Question

Question Posted 04/26/20:
How APOE genotype scores are distributed among the subjects?
And what does APOE A1 and APOE A2 means?
Response posted 04/27/20 by Kwangsik Nho:
APOE is polymorphic with three major alleles (e2, e3, and e4).
APOE has 6 genotypes (e2e2, e2e3, e2e4, e3e3, e3e4, and e4e4).

Thank you for your quick reply. I know that APOE has 6 genotypes but I want to know what do you mean by APOE A1 and APOE A2, how does it is calculated. As you can see in Image Database: Advanced Search, there are two options for APOE (as APOE A1 and APOE A2) so I want to know how these values are calculated and What does 2, 3, or 4 means (is it a genotype combination).
Response posted 04/30/20 by Kwangsik Nho:
APOE A1 and A2 mean allele 1 and allele 2 of the APOE genotype.
2=e2, 3=e3, and 4=e4.
