Question

Question Posted 11/10/15:
Dear sir, I am new in plink analysis,
I downloaded ADNI1 dataset.

How can I search in plink files for location (start / end)of gene for example CD2AP gene in which its location on chromosome 6: base pairs 47,477,745 to 47,627,262

Thanks in advance
Response posted 11/10/15 by Sungeun Kim:
I am not quite sure if you want to identify SNPs located in a gene or not. If that is what you want, PLINK .bim file contains SNP annotation with their chromosomal location and chromosome information. But if you want to know gene information from PLINK file, it is not possible because PLINK does not maintain gene information.
