Question

Question Posted 01/10/17:
What is the difference between wraping and registration? Thanks
Response posted 01/10/17 by ADNI MRI Core:
Thank you for your question to the ADNI MRI Core.

Wraping is when the FOV is too small and the image folds over to the opposite site. For example this happens on a Sagittal scan when the subjects nose extends pass the FOV and is wrapped into the back of the image.

Registration is when 2 or more images are put into the same space. For example, registration is done when verifying whether or not two longitudinal scans are of the same person or it can also be when analysis sites put subjects scans into the same template space prior to running their analysis algorithms.

Thank you
