| Proposed Analysis: | We are proposing to develop novel technologies for patient-specific inference of affected areas due to Alzheimer's Disease. Current technologies perform population wide analysis and determine areas affected on average. This approach provides insights into the disease but does not provide diagnostic information about individual subjects. We will develop machine learning technologies that can both estimate disease status as well as identify areas affected by the disease. We will investigate similar analysis methods for longitudinal data and prediction of conversion from MCI to AD. Second, we will develop mechanistic models of Alzheimer's disease and its progression. Models will integrate different sources of data to explain the phenotypic variations visible in the images and patient-specific disease evolution. |
