Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: Barsam Barsamian
Institution: Loma Linda School of Medicine
Department: Neuroscience Laboratories
Proposed Analysis: Comparing Volumetric Data of AD patients with their respective Diffusivity Data. I'll be doing this by using software in order to generate a diffusion weighted image and with that I'll find my scalar measurements (FA, Radial Diffusion, Trace and Max eigen value), I will then use this data and compare it with the Voluemtric data computed using neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging of the human brain. The purpose of this project is to find a correlation between diffusion within the brain and the density of gray matter.
