Principal Investigator's Name: | Greg Carter |
Institution: | The Jackson Laboratory |
Department: | Mammalian Genetics |
Country: | |
Proposed Analysis: | As part of the IU/JAX Alzheimer's Disease Precision Models Center, funded by NIA to create new animal models of late-onset Alzheimer's Disease (AD), we will use ADNI data to prioritize polygenic candidate models for animal modeling. We will perform genetic association analysis across multiple ADNI phenotypes using novel polygenic association methods. The goal of this analysis will be the identification of specific variants for introduction into rodent models. After the creation of new genetic models, we will perform detailed comparisons of mouse model phenotypes with ADNI data, including imaging modalities pioneered by ADNI. These comparisons will determine the AD pathology captured by each animal model and inform the creation of additional models of late-onset AD. |
