Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator's Name: Maura Bellio

Department: Medical Physics
Proposed Analysis: My project aims to design and test a computer interface to aid clinical decision-making and practice in neurodegenerative diseases. The interface will adopt recent developed models on progression of neurodegenerative diseases, based on various biomarkers and MRI scans. I am applying for having access to this database for several steps within my research. Firstly, in order to understand MRI data and interpretation in the standard clinical practice, by setting up user testings to analyze the regular and modified interaction of clinicians with the scans. Secondly, ADNI MRI data will be used to test and develop the graphic user interface, taking advantage of this whole set of real data.
