Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: Nasir Aziz
Institution: Leiden University Medical Center
Department: Neurology & Clinical Epidemiology
Proposed Analysis: I am a senior clinical researcher interested in assessing the role of metabolism/catabolism in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. I am especially interested in the association between systemic metabolism, including body weight regulation/BMI, and disease progression. Therefore, for my study I require at least measures of body weight (preferably body mass index (BMI)) as well as measures of disease progression (both clinical and imaging data, e.g. brain volume, hippocampal volume)
