Proposed Analysis: The goal of the project will be to detect mesial temporal sclerosis on MR imaging. To obtain sufficient training data, open source volumetric T1 and, potentially, coronal T2 MRI images will be used in a pilot study to train multiple 3D convolution neural network models to differentiate between control, Alzheimer’s disease, and mild cognitive impairment patients. If successful, these pre-trained models will fine-tuned to differentiate between controls and patients with medial temporal sclerosis using a relatively small number of locally obtained MR imaging.
