Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Proposed Analysis: We are currently undertaking a genome wide interaction search (GWIS)that utilises high-throughput computational analysis to explore interactions across the genome. As a member of the International Age Related Macular Degeneration Genetics Consortium, we have identified a series of interesting gene-gene interactions, some of which occur in the APOE gene. We now wish to explore whether these interactions also exist in AD and are common mechanisms to neurodegenerative diseases and hence request access to the ADNI data.
