Proposed Analysis: We are interested in developing a Bayesian method for pleiotropy-robust Mendelian randomization. Our approach requires a full data set to fit the model and we would like to apply it on a real-world data set. For instance, we would like to estimate the causal effect of a biomarker like CSF amyloid beta-protein on the progression of Alzheimer's disease. By using genetic variants as instruments for the exposure / biomarker of interest, we want to show that our method produces reasonable output even when the exclusion restriction assumption of instrumental variables does not hold.
