Proposed Analysis: | The goal of this project is to compare variations of cognitive composites in early stages of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), to determine which composite is most sensitive to clinical progression in each stage. We will compare composite variations in the different early AD stages as described in the recently updated FDA guidance for industry (February 2018). We will use linear mixed models controlling for age, sex and education to investigate which composite is most sensitive to clinical progression (as measured by diagnosis or CDR) in individuals who are biomarker positive for AD (by either PET amyloid or CSF). We will examine which composite explains the largest proportion of variance in progression at short and long-term follow-ups (1, 3 and 5 years). |
