Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator's Name: Helena Balabin
Institution: Fraunhofer SCAI
Department: Bioinformatics
Proposed Analysis: The goal of my ongoing bachelor thesis is to establish a Deep Neural Network trained on ADNI data (most likely MRI data) for classifying the stage of Alzheimer's patients. In particular, it would be interesting to see, how hard it is to distinguish MCI from cMCI patients. Moreover, a major part of the thesis will be the feature selection, so I am hoping to obtain extensive data that can be used for this aim.
