| Proposed Analysis: | In this work, we would like to use the high-quality MR brain images in the ADNI database to validate a segmentation algorithm for the brain. We plan to manually segment structures in the basal ganglia and thalamus from T1- and T2-weighted images and compare them to the algorithm results. While our algorithm has been tested on a small number of images already, we would like to increase the number of test images. In addition, we hope that the higher resolution, higher contrast images in this database will allow us to more accurately segment the structures of interest. |
