Proposed Analysis: | We'd like to use the ADNI fMRI data set to analyze functional connectivity patterns of the thalamus and the various thalamic nuclei and contrast it with fMRI and DTI data acquired in patients at our center with various dementias and neurocognitive impairments. Further, we're interested in studying various graph theoretic metrics and how they coincide with tau distribution in Alzheimer's. In particular, we're interested if the diffusion may be modeled as a simple diffusion based on the graph of nodes derived from functional connectivity. The ADNI database is invaluable for this as it provides not only an excellent source of fMRI data, but also longitudinal AV1451 scans to monitor the progression of tau load as AD progresses. |
