Proposed Analysis: | Our machine learning team works on developing new deep learning approaches to dynamically model time-series data from individuals including a broad range of clinical and non-clinical variables, thus aiming at an individual-level understanding of the underlying dynamics characterising patients’ developments. Specifically, we employ a deep generative model that captures the dynamics of an individual-specific underlying health status in a latent representation as solutions of ordinary differential equations. Our focus lies on designing the model such that it can learn these individual patient trajectories based on a sparse and irregular time grid of measurements together with a potentially more extensive characterisation of individuals at a baseline time point. This will help to uncover Alzheimer patients' individual disease trajectories and to identify factors that influence these trajectories. |
