Proposed Analysis: | Previous research suggests that depression is a potential modifiable factor for the development of dementia and that treatment of depression might have the potential to delay dementia progression. However, the precise depressive symptoms involved in this association are still very poorly understood and poorly investigated. The purpose of this project is to delineate symptoms of depression, which specifically reflect initial signs of AD as opposed to symptoms of depression, which are unrelated to AD. These results will inform clinical practice and provide us with a deeper understanding of the role of depression in dementia. |
