Proposed Analysis: We want to investigate if the relevant timescale for understanding spatiotemporal dynamics across the brain changes in Alzheimer's disease. In previous work, we introduced a novel way to generate whole-brain neural dynamical activity at the millisecond scale from fMRI signals. This method allowed us to study the different timescales by binning the output of the model. Using independent measures of entropy and hierarchy to characterize the richness of the dynamical repertoire, we showed that both methods found a similar optimum at ~200ms in resting-state and task data. Due to alterations in resting-state functional connectivity during the progression of Alzheimer's disease, we expect to find alterations in the relevant timing for information processing.
