Proposed Analysis: For the development of predictive models of beta-amyloid and tau biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, an analysis is proposed of ADNI longitudinal data pertaining to CSF and PET assessments as well as ADAS-Cog and AVLT cognitive assessments. Earlier findings from our research on data from both the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Disease Patient Registry and earlier ADNI have demonstrated, using hierarchical Bayesian cognitive processing models, the ability to distinguish baseline cognitively normal subjects who would progress to amnestic MCI or AD within 2 years from baseline cognitively normal subjects who would remain normal for at least 2 years. This was done using only item responses from baseline assessment. A hypothesized explanation for our earlier findings is that these patients who would later progress had pathological biomarker presence, even while appearing cognitively normal. To test this hypothesis, we propose an analysis of baseline ADAS-Cog and AVLT assessments on patients with amyloid and tau biomarker assessments at baseline and longitudinal follow-up.
