| Proposed Analysis: | I wish to analyze MRI data sets (and PET if available) of AD and MCI subjects to ascertain if there are specific changes in regional signal variation that can be ascribed to excess metal ion (Fe, Mn) accumulation as a function of age and sex. These data will be compared to an ongoing study in thousands of healthy controls obtained from the UK Biobank as a function of age to determine potential etiologic roles excess metal ions may play in pathological consequences of early dementia. |
