Proposed Analysis: We aim to anaylze the relationship between the anatomical shapes of subcortical structures, more specifically striatal complex, and cognitive decline. The first step of a pipeline is the segmentation of striatal complexes using FreeSurfer-based methods and deep-learning based methodologies. After the segmentation, the anatomical shapes of the striatal complexes will be represented as medial representations on the Riemannian manifold. We aim to develop a new methodology on modeling flexible and longitudinal shape changes that can take into account multiple explanatory variables for manifold-valued shape data. The implemented framework will be applied to the stroke-related research with clinical-grade images.
