Question

Question Posted 05/22/24:
Hello,

Hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to ask the difference between the 'Coreg, Avg, Std Img and Vox Siz, Uniform 6mm Res <- 30 min 3D FDG - Iter(Brain Mode' and the 'Coreg, Avg, Std Img and Vox Siz, Uniform Resolution <- 30 min 3D FDG - Iter(Brain Mode'. I found the second description is on the website and feel a little bit confused about the 'Uniform 6mm Res'. Does the 'Uniform 6mm Res' means 'spatially smoothed using a Gaussian filter (σ = 6 mm) ', which I find in the paper 'Minimal Neighborhood Redundancy Maximal Relevance: Application to the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease'?

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,
Yuye Zhang

No, "Uniform 6mm Res" means that the images were smoothed to an effective 6mm^3 resolution using scanner-specific smoothing kernels designed to account for differences in scanner resolution. The methods are described in Joshi et al. NeuroImage 2009 (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.neuroimage.2009.01.057).
