Question
Question Posted 05/05/25:
Dear ADNI Biostatistics/Data Core,
I am currently working with structural MRI data from the ADNI study and would like to access regional brain volume statistics generated using FreeSurfer version 7.x, particularly the following files: aseg.stats, lh.aparc.stats, and rh.aparc.stats.
I have carefully reviewed the IDA User Manual and the Support IDA webpage. I have also downloaded the UCSFFSX7 CSV files available under Study Files, but these only include metadata and not the actual regional volumetric measures.
Could you please clarify:
1. Are the .stats files available for batch download or provided in a consolidated format (e.g., merged CSV)?
2. I am specifically interested in baseline data from participants diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Cognitively Normal (CN) controls.
3. I will also need age, sex, and TIV information. Are these variables already linked to the FreeSurfer output or do I need to extract them separately?
If the raw .stats or processed volume data are available, I would be truly grateful for your support. I would also be happy to acknowledge your assistance appropriately, including the possibility of offering co-authorship should your input or access to the data significantly contribute to the publication.
Thank you very much for your time and guidance.
Warm regards,

The CSV file for Freesurfer 7.0 available for download on the Study Files section of the LONI ADNI website contains regional volumes, cortical thicknesses and surface areas. I am not sure what else you are looking for within those files. You will need to get the demographics and diagnosis data from other tables
