Question

Question Posted 04/09/26:
Hello, Could you please advise where I can find MRI protocol information per subject? I would like to include the diffusion MRI protocol as a covariate in my statistical model, but I wasn’t able to identify relevant protocol details in the dMRI data acquisition sheet. Thank you.

Thank you.

Hello,
There are three ways, with the most established but heavy duty one being to download the DICOM and extract the values from there.
If you are only using tabular data, hopefully you have already found the DTIROI_ROBUSTMEAN (, etc.) table(s) from the Thompson lab. They have MANUFACTURER and VOLUMES columns. (MANUFACTURER, VOLUMES) is a good key for the diffusion protocol. If you want more detail, such as scanner model, Echo Time or the receiver coil, you can get it from the DICOM or Key MRI table, but be prepared for some of the batches to be quite small; you probably do not want to get that fine grained.

To find the tables, I recommend the Analysis Ready Cohort (ARC) Builder. Build your cohort, and make sure to include a relevant table like DTIROI_ROBUSTMEAN. Then go to Collections / Tables and Change Table to see the DTI table. The final URL is https://ida.loni.usc.edu/explore/jsp/search_v2/search.jsp?project=ADNI, but unfortuntely you can't just go there; how you get there matters.
