Question

Question Posted 10/07/26:
Dear ADNI experts,
I have a question regarding the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) measures collected in ADNI4.
I noticed that several SDoH measures are currently available as individual items or component variables in the ADNI data files. However, for some measures, such as AMAS, AMNART, PEDQ-CV, and PSS, I could not identify a corresponding total, composite, or derived score in the currently available data.
Are there plans to release ADNI-derived total/composite scores for these SDoH measures in a future data release? Or can/should investigators calculate these scores themselves from the currently available variables according to the scoring procedures of the original instruments?
I would also like to ask whether a derived Modified Hollingshead Index score is expected to be released, or whether investigators can/should calculate this independently as well.
Thank you very much for your guidance.

Hello,

We plan to release documentation related to the scoring and use of these variables in the near future. Currently, investigators should calculate any needed scores from these instruments according to individual instruments scoring procedures. Investigators can calculate the Hollingshead Two Factor Index as well according to this reference: https://doi.org/10.14283/jpad.2024.88.
