If I had regular MRI last year that was normal , can DTI software be used to reevaluate that older MRI scan , as I have history of head trauma and symptoms that suggest (TBI) (MTBI) , but have had normal CT and MRI thus far . Or does a totally new MRI (DTI) have to be performed

Unfortunately, yes an exam with specific DTI sequences is needed unless DTI was included in the prior exam.
