Question

Question Posted 04/07/16:
Is the data provided in SUV or CMRglc? We are trying to decide if we are going to use your data as controls for our study, and our pipeline is set up to handle CMRglc data, but can be altered.
Response posted 04/07/16 by Bob Koeppe:
The answer is neither. Most scans are scaled to give Bq/cc, so calculating SUV is possible, but you would have to do that yourself (using injected dose and patient weight). Except for a few very early dynamic scans, no blood samples are taken for FDG, so CMRglc is not possible to calculate. The processed data that are uploaded after a scan is passed has been globally normalized. This leaves it up to anyone downloading and doing their own analysis to normalize (scale) the image data to any region within the brain.
