Question

Question Posted 10/06/16:
Dear Sir / Madame

I would be interested in using a subset of the ADNI data to generate an artificial dataset.

At first instance, I would like to "learn" the distribution of a certain parameter from existing data and generate "random" numbers based on that distribution. At a second stage, I would like to mine the dataset for interactions between parameters and then generate a dataset based on those.

Can I please ask if I can do this, given the current data agreement?

I suppose that it might be possible to publish but what I was wondering then was if it is possible to release a subset of THE GENERATED data mentioning that this data has been generated following the statistical distributions found in the ADNI dataset (That is, I WOULD NOT BE RELEASING ACTUAL ADNI DATA....only the generated ones).

Looking forward to hearing from you
Athanasios Anastasiou
Response posted 10/11/16 by ADNI MRI Core:
Thank you for your question to the ADNI MRI Core.

We have discussed this with the MRI core.

We recommend that inquire directly with LONI as to how to pull the different data types you require. dba@loni.usc.edu

As for redistributing derived data, we just ask that you inform/check with the study PI Dr. Mike Weiner before doing so. mweiner@itsa.ucsf.edu

Thank you
