Question

Question Posted 10/15/13:
Experts-
I'm looking to get images in the axial plane for the MPRAGE sequences. When I view them using the java applet I can scroll through them just fine. When I download that same MPRAGE data set and open them in MATLAB all I get are sagittal images. Is there any way to get the axial images as well?

Hi Mike, thank you for your question to the ADNI MRI Core. All the MPRAGE and IRSPGR sequence are acquired in the sagittal plane. That being said, they are 3D acquisitions so they can be viewed easily in all three planes. It just depends on what viewer is used. Some will display a image in all three planes simultaneously others require users to reformat them.

Hope this helps.

Bret
