Proposed Analysis: Amyloid plaque deposition at brain is regarded as a significant element in early detection of Alzheimer's disease. These plaques will be visible in the corresponding PET/MRI scans. We aim to use image processing methods for easy identification of these plaques from PET/MRI scans. Current methods use usual image processing tools like segmentation, water shed transform etc. Recently convolutional neural networks are identified as the best method till date for most of image classification application. But this method is not yet tried for the case of Alzheimer's detection. Our group intend to use convolutional neural networks for the application.
