Proposed Analysis: | Our lab at Cornell is looking at whole brain networks extracted from both cortical thinning data using T1 images and tractography using DTI data. We propose to implement this procedure on the available ADNI data in order to investigate the network properties of AD. In particular, we will look at the spread and propagation of AD on the putative brain network, and deduce the speed and major modes of this propagation. The ultimate clinical question we wish to address is: given the current state of the disease in a patient, can we predict the future states, by incorporating the learned modes of disease propagation on the brain connectivity network? Based on our previous success in this direction (ref 1), we are confident of producing interesting results. Ref 1: Raj A, Mueller SG, Young K, Laxer KD, Weiner M.
