Proposed Analysis: | Brain and ventricular segmentation of T1 MRI scans using the MIDAS semi-automatic segmentation framework (P. A. Freeborough et al; 1997; Interactive algorithms for the segmentation and quantification of 3-D MRI brain scans; Computer Methods and programs in Biomedicine 53; 15-25). Longitudinal analysis of said scans and regions based on absolute volumes and volume change measured using the Boundary Shift Integral (P. A. Freeborough et al; 1997; The Boundary Shift Integral: An Accurate and Robust Measure of Cerebral Volume Changes from Registered Repeat MRI; IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging 16(5); 623-629) and the K-Means Normalisation Boundary Shift Integral (K. K. Leung et al; 2010; Robust atrophy rate measurement in Alzheimer's disease using multi-site serial MRI: Tissue-specific intensity normalization and parameter selection; Neurology 50; 516-523). Automated region definition and regional atrophy measures including hippocampi. Please note: the DRC have been working with ADNI data for 3+ years. Recently our account access was revoked because we didn't submit an annual data use update. No request for an update had been received. The account was registered to the e-mail address nielsen@drc.ion.ucl.ac.uk. We requested for access to be reinstated, but were told that the only way was to submit a new application. We have been assured that by registering using the same e-mail address, our download history and all other data associated with the old account will be available again. |
