| Proposed Analysis: | Study population: AD vs normal controls Data required: clinical and demographic data, and T1 MRI scans in Dicom or NIfTI formats Methods: I will use FSL, fslr and ANTsR software. 1) Create a binary mask with FSL covering the medial temporal regions and the superior parietal lobes, 2) Register the standard mask to the subject space with antsreg_write, 3) Segment the subject's brains with FAST, 4) Apply the registered mask to the gray matter partial volume image (pve_1) with fslmaths, 5) Calculate the gray matter volume of the masked region and the whole brain with fslstats, 6) Calculate the ratio between these two values, and 7) Compare AD vs normal controls adjusting for age, sex and education. |
