Proposed Analysis: Associations study between genetic variations and brain imaging derived phenotypes is one of the important challenges in biostatistical research. In recent work Song et al. have developed a multivariate linear regression based Bayesian Spatial Group Lasso Model for imaging genetics to investigate the influence of genetic variation on brain structure. They allow for two types of spatial correlation of brain structure: spatial correlation in the imaging phenotypes obtained from neighboring regions in the same hemisphere of the brain and spatial correlation in the same phenotypes obtained from different hemispheres (left/right) of the brain. Motivated by Song et. al work, we propose a Bayesian group lasso multi-locus mixed model to accommodate the complex spatial correlation structures of phenotypes as well as the group structure among SNPs.
