Proposed Analysis: | I was awarded a R03 from the National Institute of Aging (R03AG064001) to create and validate the first reference brain functional atlas in late adulthood (named: Atlas55+), based on resting-state fMRI data. This project includes the use of ADNI’s resting-state fMRI data to validate this atlas. The other datasets that will be used in this project will be provided by the Cambridge Centre for Ageing and Neuroscience (CamCAN) study and by the 1000 Functional Connectomes Project. The plan is to conduct independent component analyses on the resting-state fMRI data and identify the major resting-state networks in healthy older individuals. We also plan to use the cognitive data from ADNI to test whether the network features extracted from Atlas55+ will predict cognitive function in healthy individuals and in patients with Alzheimer’s disease or Mild Cognitive impairment (MCI). |
