Proposed Analysis: Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia. The majority of AD cases are late-onset, multifactorial cases. Genome-wide association studies have identified more than 30 loci associated with sporadic AD (SAD), one of which is Bridging integrator 1 (BIN1).In our previous study, we have found that the genotype distribution of rs7561528 is significantly different between the AD group and the controls. In addition, BIN1 mRNA expression and protein levels were significantly different between the AD group and the controls in our database. Therefore, we want to verify our investigation in greater population. In our future studies, we would explore the correlation between different AD CSF biomarkers and BIN1 levels including BIN1 SNPs, mRNA expression and protein levels, with the expectation of providing promising perspectives for new potential biomarker.
