Proposed Analysis: | I plan to combine this data with the BioFINDER study (my group) in order to validate algorithms we have developed that determine optimal screening thresholds for inclusion into clinical trials of early Alzheimer's disease. Here, we want to generally determine which biomarker modalities (e.g., MRI, cognition, CSF/blood, PET) can be used to screen participants into clinical trials of AD. The goal is to identify inclusion thresholds which balance the tradeoff between cost of recruitment and statistical power. Power will be calculated by analyzing appropriate aspects of cognitive outcomes (e.g., mean/slope versus variance). Having access to this dataset will allow us to validate our models in independent scenarios - something which is greatly needed to improve reproducibility in our field. All work will lead solely to academic publications and all projects have been approved by appropriate supervisors (Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren, Oskar Hansson). |
