Proposed Analysis: | Research question: Are white matter hyperintensity volume (WMHV) and pulse pressure correlated with hippocampal volume and ventricular volume in Alzheimer’s disease subjects? We are proposing a retrospective review of Alzheimer's disease patients using ADNI data. WMHV (derived from T2/FLAIR MRIs) and pulse pressure (systolic – diastolic blood pressure) will be the independent variables, with hippocampal and ventricular volume as the dependent variables. Increased WMHV and pulse pressure have been shown to be predictors of cerebral vascular disease, and so this study will examine these variables as vascular predictors of neurodegeneration. |
