Proposed Analysis: | Using induvidual and summary statistics data to examine the importance of consideration of epistasis from GWAS studies. I aim to test my method(s) of epistasis detection on ADNI data sets to compare with discovered interactions and then compare these with larger data sets from UK biobank. I aim to prove that my chosen methods of epistasis detection are consistent between data sets taking into account different variables. I will focus on Alzheimer's disease in my later analysis to try and find undiscovered interactions between SNPs that may fall below thresholds of main effect for example. I will present my findings in my Master of science thesis. I am passionate about bioinformatics and using this tool to discover novel genetic interactions that could help predict disease. |
