- UCLA researchers investigating genetic factors of Alzheimers disease – The Examiner
UCLA researchers have a strong interest in Alzheimers disease. For example, in 2004, UCLAs Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI) began compiling all the data regarding the biology of individuals with Alzheimers disease that was generated by the Alzheimers Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). ADNI is an ambitious, worldwide effort by scientists to define the progression of Alzheimers disease. On July 2, UCLA Health System announced that the effort has been expanded to include the genome sequencing of the more than 800 individuals enrolled in ADNI.
