Ongoing Investigations

ADNI data is made available to researchers around the world. As such, there are many active research projects accessing and applying the shared ADNI data. To further encourage Alzheimer’s disease research collaboration, and to help prevent duplicate efforts, the list below shows the specific research focus of the active ADNI investigations. This information is requested annually as a requirement for data access.

Principal Investigator
Principal Investigator's Name: John Aballi
Institution: Molecular Stethoscope
Department: Operations
Proposed Analysis: Identification of specimens to be requested in testing the hypothesis that progression of Alzheimer's disease can be reliably monitored using tissue specific circulating cell-free RNA found in plasma. Our research will be conducted on 50 patients with AD dementia confirmed by amyloid + PET, 50 patients with prodromal AD and amyloid + PET, 50 patients with no cognitive impairment but amyloid + PET and 50 patients with no cognitive impairment and - PET. Additionally, I would like to gain a greater familiarity with the characterization of the subjects to refine my research plan.
