Proposed Analysis: | We plan to analyze the change of power law characteristics in a large-scale brain imaging data. In Alzheimer’s disease (AD), we plan to examine the structural and functional brain correlates of power law scaling of resting-state brain signal, and to understand systemically the pathophysiology associated with AD. The research will be divided into two parts: first, we aim to validate brain structural properties with corresponding power law phenomenon observed in resting-state brain signal. Second, we aim to investigate the complexity change and its relationship with structural and functional connectivity. We anticipate observing a difference in power law scaling among healthy controls and those with AD and identifying the neurobiological basis of the AD. Third, we will investigate the genetic association of structural and functional deficit observed in the patients with AD. |
