Proposed Analysis: | ALS is the third most equivalent neurodegenerative disease in the world, which is considered as a multifactorial disorder resulting from the interplay of genetic and environmental factors. Many genes have been found to be related to ALS such as c9orf72. Although many causative and susceptibility variants have been identified, the definitive genetic contributions to ALS largely remain unknown. In order to identify the common and rare variants which increase genetic risk, we have sequenced hundreds of Chinese patients with ALS using whole genome sequence. And we plan to utilize some statistics methods like GWAS or SKAT to explore potential SNPs which may contribute to the disease. After that, we need to verify our findings in other ALS cohorts. So we want to apply for the dataset used for our verification. |
