Proposed Analysis: | The Genomic stream (lead: A/Prof Simon Laws) of the Australian Imaging Biomarker and Lifestyle (AIBL) Study wishes to request access to genome wide genetic and epigenetic (methylation) data to validate findings in relation to polygenic risk scores and both cross-sectional and longitudinal peripheral methylation profiles developed in the AIBL study. These scores/profiles have been developed against longitudinal AD-related phenotype data (e.g. imaging and cognition data) in the AIBL cohort. The replication of these findings in the ADNI cohort is an imperative next step to determine the validity of these findings. AIBL data already accrued: - Genome wide SNP data and WES data - Peripheral genome wide methylation data (Illumina MethylationEPIC) at three time points Access requested for ADNI data: - Genome wide genetic and epigenetic (methylation) data - imaging data - cognitive data These analyses will be undertaken in collaboration with Prof Andy Saykin as part of an NIH grant (PI Prof Colin Masters, University of Melbourne) and is also funded through an Australian National Heath and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) grant awarded to Simon Laws. Further, analyses will be undertaken in collaboration with Prof Victor Villemagne, Prof Christopher Rowe, Dr. Samantha Burnham and other members of the AIBL research study. |
