| Proposed Analysis: | Free-water is a metric that can be calculated from a typical single-shell diffusion MRI scan and has been shown to be sensitive to microstructural changes, particularly neurodegeneration. The goal of this study is to examine free water in the basal nucleus of Meynert, along with other relevant regions hypothesized to be affected in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Disease severity will be quantified using the ADNI diagnosis criteria in addition to typical clinical measures that are included in the ADNI database. |
