Proposed Analysis: | My lab has been developing a new connectivity analysis technique - matrix similarity - that allows one to see deviations from control 'templates' and correlate that with other measures (e.g., memory change). While we have done this primarily in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy, we are interested in (1) whether it can also be used in the AD spectrum and (2) whether this metric is more reliable than other metrics associated with rs-FMRI. We believe the ADNI data, particularly with both healthy controls and early MCI cases scanned on two separate occasions and with cognitive correlates available - would be ideal to address both questions. This will be compared with our ongoing study in epilepsy (IRB number below). |
