| Proposed Analysis: | n this project, the student will apply analytic algorithms to neuroimaging data (functional MRI) from patients with Alzheimer's The project will start with a revision of the literature followed by a familiarization with methods to characterize the dynamics of functional brain networks. The project itself consists in using an existing Matlab toolbox and analytical pipelines, developed by the supervisor, and applying it to the selected dataset. Improvement of existing algorithms or development of new analysis functions will be a plus.The final report will consist in a detailed description of the analysis and the results. Overall, this is an interdisciplinary project combining state-of-the-art techniques in Biomedical Engineering with the expanding theory in Network Science (i.e. dynamic connectomics analysis) in order to address important questions regarding the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders, which may ultimately lead to the design of new and more effective diagnostics and treatments. |
