| Proposed Analysis: | As a MSc graduate in applied AI for brain imaging, I would like to continue my studies on interpretable AI for predicting age from brain MR data. During my MSc, I have approached methods for allowing interpretation of otherwise “black-box” models that can predict age from healthy brain MR. For this new project, I would like to apply these techniques in order to assess whether an AI is capable of learning features of brain aging that are both known, but also not known in current medical literature. The goal is to learn in a data-driven manner, imaging characteristics that would allow differentiation of normal versus abnormal (neurodegenerated) brain tissue from medical images. |
