Proposed Analysis: | Alzheimer disease is the most common neurodegenerative disorder of the elderly affecting an estimated five million Americans. Genetic factors contribute to the risk for disease with heritability estimates ranging from 57% to 79%. In this study, we will integrate an artificial intelligence algorithm and large genetic and phenotypic data to develop a better prediction model for subtyping and classifying the disease. We will also try to identify genetic risk factors, biomarkers, or pathways specific to MCI and Alzheimer's disease. In addition, we will use the data to investigate the genetic correlation between Alzheimer's disease and other diseases, including Parkinson's disease, psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, major depressive disease, COVID19, etc. The overall goal is to identify genetic variants/biomarkers/pathways associated with Alzheimer's disease for better prediction, diagnosis, and treatment. |
