Proposed Analysis: | The primary goal of my request to use ADNI data is for exploratory. My team is working closely with a team form a local care health care organization aiming to use their electronic health records to develop a risk scoring system for the prediction of the conversion of cognitively normal people into patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) to provide a reliable tool for the prevention of MCI. Patients with suspected MCI should undergo a comprehensive history and physical examination to distinguish MCI from normal aging or dementia, and separate it from other causes. We will investigate risk factors associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) like age, obesity, diabetes, etc., and develop risk score to that allows clinicians to determine the risk of developing dementia in elderly populations. We may use statistical models including regression, logistic regression, correlation analysis, Cox proportional hazards regression analysis, etc. to develop a scoring system to determine the risk of a person to have MCI. |
